Local Churches in Market Weighton

All Saints Church

The oldest building in the town is All Saints Church, and parts of its stonework go back to Norman times.  All Saints is a grade1 listed building in the Gothic style, dating back to the 13th century, with some elements of Norman in the tower.  The tower, originally wooden, was replaced by brick and made higher in 1795.  The tower houses a peal of eight bells, and clock faces on three sides.

The Methodist Church

The present Methodist Church was built next to the former Methodist Chapel, and opened in 1866.  It is a large Italian style building, of brick and stone, but is some what lacking in architectural qualities of its predecessor.  This church is currently undergoing major reconstruction and updating.  A new church hall is being built at the rear for use by the local Community.
